"Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past, He humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future, He will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan - The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light had dawned. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this." Isaiah 9:1,2,6,7
"But the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give the Name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end.'" Luke 1:30-33
"Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the war-horses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River, to the ends of the earth. Zechariah 9:9-10
See, our King comes to us, righteous and having salvation. He is the King over His kingdom which shall never end. His Name is Jesus (salvation). The government will be on His shoulders, and He will rule wisely and justly. His government of peace will have no end. And don't we all yearn for peace, in our lives and our hearts? We can have peace in Jesus! He is the Prince of Peace and this peace He proclaims to each, and every heart and to the nations. His rule will extend to the ends of the earth, and it will be an everlasting reign of a righteous Judge and King. He is coming again, "with power, and His arm rules for Him." (Isa. 40:10). When we see Him on that day, our longing will be over. We will be with Him forever!
If you need peace in your heart this Christmas season, remember the One we celebrate, Jesus Christ our Lord. He is the Prince of Peace, the author of peace, and you can have that peace right now. You don't have to wait for Him to return. He is standing at the door of your heart and knocking. (Rev. 3:20). Let Him in TODAY! Come, Lord Jesus!
